About
Between two cities.
Shinya Mohri is a photographer based in Paris, after years working in Tokyo. He makes portraits of artists and performers, and works backstage at fashion shows — drawn to the unguarded moments between the noise: the breath before someone steps on stage, the stillness of a model in the last minutes before a show.
Moving between two cities and two visual cultures, he carries a Japanese attention to light and quiet into the energy of the European fashion and arts scene.
Selected work has appeared in Mixte Magazine.
